Designing a page is a lot like cooking. The story you’re illustrating is like a cookbook, providing the recipe… then you select, from your palette, the ingredients
that will best bring out that story’s flavor. Perhaps you start with a pen, or pencil drawing… maybe add some cut-paper collage… sprinkle in some digital images, and typography… then you
mix it all together, ensuring white space and composition is in the proper balance, and Voilà – you’ve cooked up a page that shows – at a glance – what the story is
about.
